Max uses the car's supercharger sparingly, so as to conserve fuel. The V8 Interceptor is seen at the very beginning of the film, when Wez and other marauders are pursuing Max. Max had several weapons hidden within (and even outside) the car.Max rigged the tanks to explode with a booby trap hidden under the car. The passenger seat was removed, and a custom seat for Max's dog was installed on the passenger door.The front bumper was removed to allow the vehicle to travel off road with less hindrance.Max also installed a new fuel gauge, indicating the car was now capable of holding 200 litres of fuel. This led to the car losing the rear spoiler. The boot door has been removed in order to accommodate them. Two massive fuel tanks were added to allow the car to travel greater distances.The vehicle was modified in order to become better suited for traversing the barren wastelands. The once pristine Interceptor is now showing wear and tear, due to the harsh conditions of the wasteland. Three years after the events of the first movie, Max is still using the V8 Interceptor as his primary vehicle, which also likely serves as his home, due to Max's nomadic nature. Unlike most other MFP vehicles which are yellow and have roof-mounted police lights, the Interceptor is entirely black, save for a few gold MFP decals. According to Barry, the Interceptor has a dual overhead cam engine, and thanks to the blower, makes 600 horsepower at the wheels.Īfter Max's family is killed by the Toecutter's gang, Max steals the Interceptor and uses it to track down and eliminate members of the gang and Toecutter himself, as well as Johnny the Boy. Max then drives off into the Wasteland. The V8 Interceptor is first seen in the MFP vehicle garage. The mechanic, Barry, and Goose use the Interceptor as a bribe to keep Max on the force.
